Following a successful career with Prudential, spanning nearly 20 years, in a variety of financial adviser roles, Phil left the company in 2001 and in 2003 joined forces with Phil Perry, as a co-founder and co-director of ARK Financial Planning.
Phil is Chartered Financial Planner as recognised by the Chartered Insurance Institute. As part of his qualifications Phil has to demonstrate higher levels of professionalism; exhibited through ethical and behavioural standards, skill and technical knowledge to the ultimate benefit of the profession and the consumer alike.
Phil is a regular contributor to the industry press and for over 5 years wrote a personal finance column for a local newspaper. Phil featured in a Panorama programme helping to save and protect a vulnerable ladies’ pension from disappearing into a wholly inappropriate investment vehicle.
Phil advises clients on the full range of wealth management issues.

Phil’s vast knowledge of all levels of the financial services industry was acquired working for a national insurer, a major bank and a building society and for the last 17 years as an independent financial adviser.
Now with over 30 years experience of advising clients under his belt, Phil joined with Phil Stevenson to establish ARK in 2003. Phil maintains his professional standards by keeping his knowledge up to date and adhering to a strict standard of ethical behaviour.
Phil advises clients on all aspects of wealth management within his role with the firm, but also carries specific qualifications in his specialist areas of long term care and equity release.
Away from work Phil and his wife Caroline have their hands full with their children Jacob & Martha. Most Saturdays he can be found supporting Jacob who plays for a local football team.
Brad worked in military intelligence before transferring his skills to the financial services industry in 2017. Prior to advising his own clients, Brad worked in compliance and investment roles with industry leading financial services companies
Brad is a self-proclaimed wiz kid when it comes to the technology in the financial services industry and regularly uses technology to lead cashflow modelling sessions and portfolio x-rays with clients.
Brad is passionate about financial planning and improving peoples lives through comprehensive financial planning and is working to become a Chartered Financial Planner.
Brad has been featured in 'The Telegraph' newspaper and holds specific qualifications in investment management, securities and dealing, mortgages and equity release.
When he’s not studying, you can usually find him (somewhere in the rough) at Saddleworth Golf Course, trying to improve his golf.
Rebecca joined ARK in 2016 after graduating from University in Leeds.
Rebecca worked her way through all of the roles in the business and qualified as a Financial Planner in 2020. Rebecca is now responsible for ARK's day to day operations and works along side the other financial planners at ARK to ensure clients are looked after, as well as servicing her own clients.
Rebecca is meticulous in her approach to financial planning and has been recognised for her outstanding technical knowledge and swift development in the financial services industry.
Rebecca spends her spare time in the gym and walking the beautiful scenery of Saddleworth with her favourite walking partner, Oscar the dog.
Kara joined the ARK team as Office Administrator in Spring 2022, having taken the decision to leave the Banking industry after a 34 year career.
Kara brings a wealth of experience in financial analysis, underwriting and customer service. She prides herself on attention to detail, good communication and delivering high levels of customer service to support clients throughout all stages of their journey with ARK.
Whilst Kara has an extensive track record in the financial services sector, she is looking forward to learning and developing her knowledge within the ARK team.
Kara is married to John and lives locally in Greenfield. Mum to Matthew who has recently “flown the nest” and Ellie, who is studying at Liverpool John Moores University. In her spare time, she likes to spend time gardening, meeting friends and walking her cockapoo dog, Oscar.
